Awards

The awards acknowledge those individuals who have given their time, energy and talents to help make Rhode Island a distinguished arts and cultural destination. Awards nominees — local artists, designers, organizations, civic leaders and businesses — receive well-deserved recognition for their positive impact on our state’s artistic community and all those who benefit from it.

Award categories:

Encore Award recognizes a business leader, business, corporation, or corporate foundation for outstanding support of arts and culture in Rhode Island or for an innovative partnership between business and the arts.

Small Business Award recognizes a small business owner or a small business with fewer than 100 employees for outstanding contributions and in-kind services to Rhode Island’s arts and cultural community.

Jabez Gorham Award recognizes outstanding arts/cultural organizations in Rhode Island for unwavering commitment to excellence, significant impact on the community, and success in organizational development. (To be eligible, arts/cultural organizations must have tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status.)

Individual Achievement Award recognizes outstanding individual achievement in the arts and/or individuals who by their commitment to arts and culture have enhanced the quality of life for Rhode Islanders. This award is presented to both a visual artist and a performance artist.

Arts Advocate Award recognizes the commitment and leadership of an individual who has enhanced the opportunities for artists and/or arts organizations in Rhode Island.
